Smart switch recommendations

Hi there. I have some lights in my bathroom that I'd like to make smart but the bulbs are non-standard. Figured the best way around this is to buy a couple of smart switches that can connect to Homey. However, am new to Norway and unsure about which switches to buy/how easy it is to replace them myself.

 

Is anyone able to make a recommendation? I've heard Aqara make decent ones, for instance. Sorry for the English!

The second part is the easy part: You are not allowed to replace them yourself. Call an electrician.  

 

The first part is a bit trickier. If you are able to change bulbs, you need a switch that can ... err.. "cut", "break", "open" (Ok, I don't know the correct english word for it) both connection leads so that there's no chance to electricute yourself. Welcome to Norway.

 

If the bulbs are fixed, you don't have this problem.

 

 

You can use any smart switch or rotary dimmer that are Z-wave or Zigbee with Homey. A popular choice in combination with the "to-polet" switch I tried to explain above is a Fibaro Dimmer 2.

Oh, I forgot that Qlight has a Z-wave rotary dimmer that you can use directy without having to add a second switch:

and Elko rotary dimmers should work, but might be a hazzle to add.

Thanks for the info! Sounds a little bit above my paygrade and, as you mentioned, best left up to an electrician. Shame, that's it's not an easy solution, but I guess that's the price you pay for safety.

 

Now to convince the boss that it's worth paying Norwegian electrician rates to change out a couple light switches...

Yeah, that's the hardest part.

 

But which light bulbs are you using? How are they "non-standard"?
